Perhaps some fo them, the likes of Loft, Gatting, Elphick etc need to go out on loan to a conference side to gain match experience week in week out against men.

That doesn't make sense! Send them down TWO divisions to hone them, so they can come back and tackle the 1st Division??

Sorry mate, but you must be smoking some serious crack!

The general overview of El-Abd is that he is consistently poor. We are left with a squad that no Prem club wanted to cherry-pick for peanuts - and the ones they DID get were ones that McGhee wasn't even fielding!

Odd that our cast-offs can be playing in the Prem, but our first-team can't win games in the 1st! That says a lot about Magoo and his managerial accumen.

As DK said on the radio and all credit to him it is good to see local lads coming through and if DW had his way the team would be fulkl of Sussex born players but that is not practical and players need to be brought in.

But those players need to be expereinced ones not boys.

Think in an ideal world we'd all like to see a successful Albion team full of local lads as DK said! Although I felt a twinge of pride, I guess I was trying to reflect on any positives from today. I agree we still need some experience to support them now.

Our first team only had 3 McGhee players in it. The rest were Wilkins trained in the youth squad or leftovers from Micky Adam's era.

Does'nt dick Knight constantly put out the line that he would like to see a team of Brighton/Sussex lads run out at Falmer?

Unfortunately he might get his wish but will we be in the football league?

Are we on some sort of misguided adventure?

I do not smoke anything. given up 10 years ago:lolol:

Seriously I think that sending them out to a lower club will give them the opportunity to develope and confidence to come back to us and we then benefit. Why do Prem Clubs allow teams like us to loan players?

Phew! Then THAT says even MORE about what the very-recently-departed magoo has done for this club!
3 players who have perceivably fieldable worth in this division. Thanks magoo you useless dullard.

When we have a young team (and particularly a young defence) as we did yesterday, I think it's all the more important that we have an experienced, commanding 'keeper.

I wasn't impressed with Henderson at all yesterday, I personally think he should have done far better with the first goal, and had a fair few other dodgy moments (particularly in the first half where he told one of the defenders to leave a ball for him, then didn't claim it and nearly let Chesterfield in), although he did make some decent saves as well to be fair.

Mind you, I guess we'll see how my theory about a commanding 'keeper making a difference pans out when the FDM is back in goal for Blackpool (as Hendo is on International duty, I believe).

DW puts too much faith in HIS youth team.

They might have done well in the FA Youth Cup but i just dont think they are old/experianced enough to play first team football.

I do think that we have a very good bunch of young players comeing through but there just not ready yet.

Bring in a couple of 25/30 year olds who have been around a bit and know the score on the pitch to help out the youngsters!

What a complete load of bollocks. He was left one on one after a horrendous lapse by both central defenders which gave the forward all the time in the world to pick and choose his spot. In that case it is similar to penalties you have to watch the feet and second guess where he might put it and here the Chesterfield player seemed to toe poke the shot which wrong footed Henderson.

It was the plan of the board all along. Why else would we give contracts to 10 youth team players in March?
We have to make do with cheap options at the moment until the ground is sorted out.

What sort of grammar is that?
