Sidwell had the choice of playing at the Mad Stad or at Withdean, we matched his wage demands, and yet he chose to play in a 22,000 all seater stadium to a Lego ground with a sand pit, I wonder why?

This is what is worrying me. I wonder if this press interview is putting him in the shop window.
Unless a team was very quick they wouldn't get him by the Wednesday deadline so we may have a chance.

It would be an amazing signing if we could capture his signature, don't forget that he is on loan already so we could do some sort of a deal that carried on after December.

You have to see it from his point of view, is it better to be getting first team football in the Championship and rave reviews or rot away in the reserves at Old Trafford, I know which I would choose. It is possible that he might just use the Albion as a stepping stone to far greater things, even if he did sign for us I reckon he would insist on a minimum fee release clause in his contract.

So far he has been one of the bright sparks in our start to the season, lets hope he can become a permanent fixture, come on board and flash the cash, you know it would be a shrewd investment.

How big a wage would he be on as a teenager at Man Utd, surely we aren't talking massive figures, he is not quite in the Ronaldo and Rooney league...

with this sort of player you have got to do everything to try and keep him, even if it means asking him to sign a 3 year contract but allowing him to talk to other clubs at the end of the season it would be good for both of us he can show everyone what he's capable of and we could get a good fee for him

exactly what harding SHOULD of done (out of loyalty for the club:angry: )

He has a two year contract at Man Utd so there will have to be a transfer fee.

I bet we get him on loan for the rest of the season, which i would be quite happy with.

Simple fact of life, he's playing for us and in the shop window. Bigger and wealthier clubs can offer him a contract a la Reading and Steve Sidwell.

... which is why we should act now...

We took too long to make a move for Sidwell when it was bloody obvious he was a class act after about 2/3 games... Reading came in at the end of his loan, we matched their offer, but all too late...

We should not make the same mistake...

As said earlier, some players are an investment...

yeah but maybe McShane wants to be in the shop window and wants to play at a club that wont be battling relegation but charging for promotion. If he thinks he deserves 1st team football at Man Utd he'll want Prem football within two years at least...something we cant dream of offering to him when Reading/Palarse etc CAN possibly give him that chance

It'd be an incredible coup if we managed to sign him permanently. Can't see it happening, but I'd be happy with a season long loan. :drink:
