Go to any Sunday morning park game tomorrow and you will see a better player than him.

He was very ineffective today.

As he has been all season.

Colchester fans were saying on their board that he wasn't much of a player as he was moving down here.

I honestly believe there is a very good player in there somewhere.

I recall seeing Darren Currie pre-season when we had on trial. I couldn't believe how the club were even considering him as he looked very unfit and was overweight. Towards the end of the game he put a put a sublime cross into Knight and suddenly I saw what the fuss was all about.

What you need is the right type of manager. I suspect he is one of those players where hoof ball (or a relegation fight) doesn't get him out of bed in the morning.

I don't think its a reflection on him as a player, just on him as a striker.

Which is irritating when there are (at least) 3 other fit strikers on our books: Gargan (bench I believe, but i dunno what he looks like), Dixon and Robinson. I am well aware that none are great, but if they can't play up front for our 1st team when we are in dire straits, then why pay them wages?

You may be correct in your thinking. Let's hope the new manager injects some impetus into our style of play and maybe players like him will thrive on that.

He can cross a dangerously good ball, how many goals did he set up at the start of the season when we played the game on the ground? But now he looks fat, bored and lazy. He has no worth in our team as of right now, maybe when we get a new manager in he'll get renewed determination/purpose to his football.

That's a good point, today Crewe were positive from the start, they quite often attacked with 6 or 7 players whereas our strikers were too often isolated with little or no midfield support.

Yep. It's unfortunate that some players can't take it themselves to do that, but Currie is a prime example.

A strong and powerful build but with an obvious underlying skill and intelligence football wise.

I've always found players like that exciting, those with strength and skill.

( Probably why I've always enjoyed watching Rooney and even Heskey )

Butters another example. Fantastic football brain, but always needed to work on his fitness. When they get that right, always an asset to the team.

Ridiculously harsh. He's never really been given a proper run of games. At the start of the season he was top notch and he's a great passer/crosser. Not really suited to our hoof game when he's up front.

Couldn't keep up with what position he was playing in the 2nd half, up front, left wing, right wing, if the men in charge don't know where to play you, i'd lose focus as well.
Certainly half the player he was in pre-season though, Why?

Because pre season games are low tempo strolls against non league teams?

I don't usually dislike our own players, but Kevin, you’re pushing me baby. There's no excuse at all for him to be in as poor condition as he is, to have body language as terrible as he does. I'd like to think a new manager might be able to sort him out because he does have ability but if you look at his track record it seems pretty unlikely.

He reminds me a bit of Lee Steele. Fantastic natural ability, no real desire to be a footballer. I bet Everton dumped him for attitude/fitness reasons. You're an absolute f***ing idiot if you think he's no good - Adam El Abd has to try approximately 10,000 times harder than him to be a professional footballer, which I kinda like. I saw him put in two crosses any decent striker would have tapped in at Peterborough this season while evidently cantering towards the fullback. He just sums up how much untapped potential there is in the squad.
