How can that be, we wouldn't know anything was wrong if Mcghee didn't go whining to the papers and the rumours on an internet site would remain rumours on an internet site.

Yet with people like you sniping and second guessing as to why Kuipers and co don't get along with the Manager what do you actually expect his and the board to do ?

There are those (normally those who continually push forward their "contacts" at the club, play the "I've been a fan since 1827" card, or qualify themselves as uberfans) who mock those that are concerned about events at the club. There are those who refuse to see anything to worry about until events are fully played out. And there are those who think that all is not well on various fronts at the club. The arguments seem to consist of historical achievements versus an uncertain future, and appear to descend into puerility within about 5 or 6 posts. Loyalty to MM is commendable, but not when there is a deliberate refusal to accept that even occasionally he makes mistakes. Blind loyalty is worrying.

Everyone has the right to their opinions, and I suppose we won't know who had the most justifiable approach until the last match of the season is played.

Wow, spot on.

Funnily enough, the same way I manage staff now, the way I have been doing for almost 20 years. You don\'t need to be a football manager to be able to man-manage

No, but do you not think managing a Championship football team is slighty different?

No, but I would expect them to follow lines of complaint that are established, which includes solving problems internally

Fair comment but what happens when the person doesn't like the outcome of this problem solving, as seems to have happened with all the Albion players? Can you THEN revert to slagging off your commanding officer? Again I doubt it :)

Of course, but when people ask "what would you do/what do you know" then they are going to get my experience. However, the basic tenets of man-management are the same - and military leadership is actually considered to be pretty good, to the extent that we frequently get civilian company managers in for instruction, and we have been known to have football/rugby/cricket teams come to us for team-building exercises.

That is true. My friend joined the Royal Engineers and big city firms sent their employees on the Sandhurst scheme with him and fellow officers (can't remember particular name of training) to learn valuable life skills.

I\'m not doubting the quality of your management skills as I am sure they are top notch. I just think perhaps the way things are dealt with publicly and the pressures differ to that of a football club with a lot of unhappy supporters. I\'m not saying you don\'t have any pressures because I\'m sure you\'re under immense pressure at times, I\'m just saying they\'re different and that different approaches might be required.

Cool, now explain to me how going to the press about bust ups with the players is anything other than detrimental to the club.......go on, because no one has explained this yet, how is this a good strategy by Mcghee?

McGhee is an idiot. He has all but ruined any team (or fan) spirit at every club he has ever miss-managed. It was a disaster when we appointed him in the first place, and it will be an even bigger disaster if we don't kick him out real soon!!

So you\'d rather we didn\'t know why Kuipers wasn\'t on the bench on Saturday? Fans demand to know what\'s happening with the goings on in the club. McGhee is being forced to respond to the players who are falling out of favour and going to the press/radio and complaining about it. No it\'s not ideal but I don\'t think he has got any other choice.

What he is saying is... put up or shut up. He means if you go and see for yourself, you'll find that you're wrong to think there is a problem at the club. If you don't go, it kind of diminishes the weight and importance your moaning has.

Of course, if you want to mouth off from behind the anonymity of a fans' messageboard, that's fine, but someone like McGhee would take you a whole lot more seriously if you expressed your concerns face to face, which he is inviting you to do. Personally, I'd take him up on that offer - whenever I've spoken to him, I've found him a very pleasant and approachable bloke.

It's up to you. :)

Well even if McGhee doesn't think there's a problem with the club I do.
I've not heard the fans so divided in ages. I was talking to my mates before Coventry and I'd say 50% thought he was doing ok, the other half thought he was shocking or weren't sure how it was going.
So on that basis, I'd say the majority of fans are still behind him.

The atmosphere at the last couple of away games has been poor and the moaning at Withdean is incredible.

I don't think its happy, but I'm f*cked if I need to go to the training ground to work that out.

my point is that you (and the whingers in our ranks) are making him do this by your continual moaning and whining about his style.....

Every fan is entitled to their opinion, but when its continual moaning and whining then your constructive critisicm gets forgotten.....

I read and hear all kinds of rumours, from Kuipers and White fighting before the coach trip to Southampton, to Oatway telling a friend that team spirit is the worst he has ever known since joining albion. Some rumours gather pace, others vanish, those that gather pace are further fueled by the inclusion of the press in what should remain confidental matters.
If you continue to stoke a fire it will burn, if asked why Kuipers was dropped, the answer is simple, he was injured or an internal incident has happened and is being dealt with. Full criticism of a player will have a negative effect some people, it can work positively for others. However numerous public attacks on numerous employees can only be poor for morale.
Hampshire Seagull, can I ask you what would you think if numerous numbers of your staff were unhappy or causing problems?

So you dont think the players are capable of putting on the correct display when fans might be present?

Surely most of this stuff has happened behind closed doors or simply where only the team are present?

I would welcome the opportunity to ask him why he has done some of the things he has this season but would anticipate the usual stock answers given in the press which i have personally decided arent good enough for me.
