Mark McGhee hopes to sign a player on loan during the break for international fixtures to boost his injury-hit squad.

The Brighton boss said: "The two-week break is a godsend. Hopefully we can get some of the walking wounded back.

"We can also explore the possibility of bringing someone in to boost the numbers. We were down to the bare bones on Saturday against Sheffield United.

"We brought in 16-year-old Joel Lynch as cover for centre-half, and that's how desperate the situation is."

I wonder who he is after? maybe one of those Arsenal youngsters that everyone was going on about. I would like to see us get Ricketts on loan from Spurs as he is not getting first team action but IMHO is a quality little player

Jamie Slabber.

another very good player who seems to score goals for fun. Reto Ziegler or the young Brazillian defender Defendi would als be quality signings

I hope the shut up is not because you do not want him but shut up in that spurs have got a defender called defendi :lolol:

here are some facts on him taken from spurs website quoted by Arnesen about Rodrigo Defendi

He comes from Cruzeiro and this is a big, big club in Brazil that you can compare with Tottenham - many big players have come from there, like Ronaldo.

They go abroad every summer with their youth teams and Rodrigo was 16-years-old when we saw him first with our scouts. He is a left-footed central defender who is good in the air and can jump very high.

He is now only 18-years-old and, like all players of his age, will need time and will get time to settle down. He speaks Portuguese and will have to learn the language, but the language of football is international.

He is training every day and enjoying himself - and we look forward to seeing his development.

I do not understand why people want a player built like an outhouse :glare: surely with Uncle Albert dazzling people with his maizzy dribbles and Darren Currie threading the ball through the eye of a needle, a young pacey forward who can get into good positions would be better for the way we are playing

Just my Opinion

Valid point, but I think there is a need for variety. Not sure now though whether we should use our precious money on a player that is gonna be used as just "another option".

What like Jake Robinson? Have you been talking to Desert Orchid? :jester:

We also have Leon and Shuee like that.

I rate Jakey but think he needs a bit more time. some young gun from one of Englands top guns that trains with quality all the time will be the better option. still think Rohan Ricketts and Currie on the wings would scare the crap out of most teams in the Championship
