Better without Carpenter?

I think Mayo did a decent job today and never once tried to overcomplicate things.

Being more defence minded he also allowed Hammond to push on who in turn managed to pick up second balls from their defensive headers.

I would definitely started with Mayo next game.

Mayo did well. Although he obviously knew he lacked in pace to showed players where to run rather than sticking the boot in. I'd start Ried personally. He had a good game.

Yes, we do look better without Chippy. He is well off the pace. Nice to see Hammond have a good game at last as well.

Mayo or Carpenter in midfield?

On more than one occasion, the ginger prince caused Watford some serious problems this afternoon.

He seems to know how to serve a ball into the troublesome zone.

Could do a job, in my opinion ... Chippy's job.

But does NSC agree?

Mayo is too slow, and one footed. Come on now, IMO you can't compare him with Carpenter.

Top TAG TEAM work Lord B.

Mayo knows he does not have the ability to do much more then play it simple and works his socks off.

Carpenter has been very SLACK this season.

Chippy hasn't been the same since his injury (even before he's not been the Chippy of old), Mayo was an improvement today.

Chippy's looked half-dead and troubled recently. Well-overdue being rested. I was pleasantly surprised by Kerry Mayo's contribution today. He looked well up for it today, and laid on the chance where Seb Carole rattled the bar. Yeah, ginger boy done GOOD!

Chippy has been poor of late.

Mayo has looked more than capable in the 3 games so far this season in midfield and should keep his place

I thought Mayo did better than expected today too. I'm gonna have to think a bit about this one.
