Seems like we are skint and perhaps more in trouble then any of us suspected.

I expect abuse for this but Peter Taylor recently said hed love to buy Cullip if he thought he could afford him and I think it might be time to take some money for him.

He has been an amazing player for us no doubt and were our financial situation better I would never want to see him leave.

BUT

Hinsch, Virgo, El Abd have all looked good, with Hinsch especially playing well in central defence and I think Virgo could admirably fill Cullip's shoes and also they both offer us a bit of pace in defence.

Cullip's valuation is only going to decrease as he gets older so perhaps might be time to get some money for him now?

Not saying we should let him go for peanuts but I would rather we sold one decent player then lose some promising youngsters and miss out on signing some new players etc.

Perhaps a moment of madness to even suggest this....but just a thought.

£250k for Currie and the money we will get when Harding leaves together with the spurs money would tide us over nicely. A few quid for Cullip would leave us in a much healthier position and perhaps mean we could go and sign a couple of promising young players like we did with Nicolas, who will serve us better in the long term.

If I convince John Madejski to buy 50,000 copies of "We Want Falmer" then can we have him for free? Then you get your money either way

If you read the Taylor quote properly you would realise that he said "I know what sort of wages he was on at Brighton and we can't afford that" or words to that effect.

Now if he can even afford the wages how much will they stump up for a transfer fee do you reckon?

I really can't see us staying up if Cullip were to go. He's the only player I wouldn't think of selling.

Yeah sorry Lammy you're rigth. I forgot about that bit. Probably not going to Hull then.

I know it is not what people want to hear but as Uncle Buck said, he is the wrong side of 30 and out of contract and with injury problems.

Would hate to see him go but he must be on a decent wage here and would maybe free up some funds as well as bringing in a fee.

Well he'll have to take a pay cut to stay here anyway I would imagine.

Really??? He is not the best defender in our squad at this level (I would say Butters reads the game better), has been at fault for a number of goals, and the likes of Hinshelwood and Harding are better longer term prospects. He has been an integral part of the last five years and will go down as a great servant, but I cannot see the likes of Ipswich chasing after him.

Also I'm not convinced by Peter Taylors arguement that he cannot afford Cullip, though he would be a good signing for a club trying to get into the Championship. Considering that they managed to attract Nick Barmby from Leeds they can hardly be paying peanuts, and are reputed to have a number of players on £5K a week.

Why he is out of contract at the end of the season, going to be the wrong side of 30 soon, if we can get some cash then why not. We will not due to the medical problems that come attached, but heh ho.

Because he's our inspirational captain and my favourite player....has been for years and I don't want to accept that his days may be numbered. Besides I'm sick of us being skint.
It gets right on my thrupennies:angry:

I think we need him for his leadership qualities and i don't think the youngsters would have come through( or Butters have recovered) as well without him.
He may have lost a bit of form but he'll be so important come the last few months of the season.
Bar this season he's been by far the best and most consistent Albion player of the last 15 years (ie since i've watched them)
