Does anyone know why the season ends so tantalising close to a Bank Holiday, yet misses out on it?

I always think that Bank Holiday weekends are superb season changes times, with 2 games in 3 days. The Bank Holiday crowds generally seem very good and would be superb at the very end of the season. Either with the season ending with games on the Saturday and Monday, or even the following Saturday as the finale, it just seems that we always miss out on a bumper weekend when we end immediately before a weekend.

I think it has something to do with Leeds playing away at Bournemouth years ago on a bank holiday, they brought 10,000 fans down from Yorkshire and had a massive RIOT on the beach.

i think that league 1 & 2 games should be played on the sunday and championship games played on the bank holiday monday.
