I think Ryan is a solid keeper, but height is a factor. A 6 ft 4 keeper has 4 inches extra reach, is also more imposing in a one on one. By good positioning he can make up for the lack of height, but there do seem to be a lot of shots that he just can’t reach. I would guess it is causing us to concede 4 or 5 more per season than we should. With the ultra defensive tactics we are going to face more shots. Not a great recipe when the team is struggling.

Palace - 3 shots, 1 goal
Leicester- 3 shots, 2 goals
Burnley - 5 shots, 3 goals

Total - 26 shots on target, 17 goals conceded.

At the current rate, if you have 3 shots on target in a game, you score 2 goals.
