This period, with Rutter injured, Pedro suspended and two very good youngsters on loan was a huge chance for O'Riley to stake a claim to be a starting regular.

I don't think he's done nearly enough in those games. Joao Pedro will come straight back in and on those performances O'Riley will struggle to get much football.

Don't have anything against the bloke, I just don't think he's done enough with this chance.

Out of interest, has O'Riley been wandering about sulking whilst chucking elbows at opposition players when his poor play doesn't generate results?

I love Pedro, but his Billy big bollocks attitude of late doesn't guarantee he walks back in the side. He did very little prior to his red card and if Rutter and Mitoma were fit, Pedro wouldn't be in the side either of late.

That's not to say he isn't a wonderful player on his day.

On loan where?

He might be OK, but for the no.10 role he will be behind Rutter and Pedro, and possibly the returning Buonanotte, Can he play on the wings? Central midfield? Celtic fans would be mortified, but hey - win some, lose some!
Personally, I see him as a box to box no. 8 than a no. 10. But we don't really play an 8, we play two 6s and a 10.

I think Pedro may go straight back OUT in August 😬

Due to a number of factors, he's had a good run at that second striker role, and with João Pedro and Georginio coming back and Buonanotte and possibly Enciso next season, I think he may struggle.

Another forgettable performance for MOR. I just don’t understand what he brings to the team. He’s too lightweight and afraid to shoot. Rutter is much more physical and puts himself about more.

Could he have shot from 50 yards when the goalie was stranded? I think if he had made an instant decision, there was a clear shot. It then got closed down quickly and he had to make a tepid pass and the chance went.

None of us expect his legs to get any quicker but the brain could have worked quicker there.

There is a player there but he needs to improve to at least mount a serious challenge to Rutter (gulf at the moment) and hold off the emerging talent of Gruda. Otherwise his minutes won’t be frequent next season

Agree with a lot of these recent comments.

I like him and he puts himself about, but needs to show a bit more. He probably needs time but I can't see how he gets it now.

As I said before the game, it felt like one he had to deliver on. He's had a real run in the side to show what he's about.

Right now, I think Gruda deserves to play that spot ahead of him.

But, with Pedro back, even that's a big ask. Next season you also have Rutter, Buonanotte, perhaps even Enciso (but doubt it), alongside Gruda and O'Riley.

I don't see how he's getting many minutes next season, unless we offload some people.
