In a pile of football shirts
Against Liverpool, Jimmy Case testimonial. If I remember rightly, Liam Brady came on as a sub towards the end

One of my all time favourite players.

Ditto! He suffered a huge amount of criticism for keeping money from his testimonial. Considering he showed a huge amount of loyalty to Southampton and did not retire a rich man, in contrast to many of the stars, I wouldn't hold that against him.

Great man, great footballer, just a shame he never excelled for England.

He once played for Brighton in a testimonial at the Goldstone. Can anyone remember what the occasion was - whose testimonial was it?

Cheers. :)

Yeah it was Liverpool. he hit the bar from about 35 yards and went off at half time coz his wife was ill. I still have a photo somewhere of him & John Byrne standing together in their Brighton strips.

Le Tiss was one of the best scorers around, it was great for him to score the last Southampton goal at The Dell against The Ars.

Apart from being on here, I know one other thing we have in common.

We are both featured in Metro... ;)

Ooh, really? Missed that one. I do try to avoid reading that rag if I can at all help it...

Actually, that's a bit of a bumsteer.

I advertise in the Sussex edition now and then. Don't know if you get to see it, but I saw your name in there. Someone had the audacity to credit you in a byline with a couple of stories.

All together now "YOU'RE SCUM AND YOUR WIFE'S A SLAG, YOU'RE SCUM AND YOUR WIFE'S A SLAG" :clap2:

Edit - erm, that's in reference to Jo Belloti and Robbie Fowler, of course. For all I know, Mrs le Tissier's morals are impeccable.

It is indeed the match, my understanding was that Robbie just checked out Jo's growler whilst the other Spice Boys watched.

Ex-missus Le Tiss. He left her for Emily Symons - 'Marilyn' off Home and Away.
