I think the little b*gger in the shop has short changed you,wait outside when she comes out for lunch and give her a slap???

Given that the top costs £97 and not £100, you are effectively borrowing £50 from each parent but the COST to each parent is 97/2 = £48.50.

You give £1 back each, which means the deficit to each parent is £49 (£48.50 + 0.50).

The £1 in your pocket are the two 50p's you still owe your parents, making it £100 in total.
