They are negotiating with Man United who panic every year and pay stupid money. United will pay up.
See the Kovacic deal with Man City, a well run club. £25m + 5m add ons with 1 year left. Chelsea know City are no mugs and won’t pay over the odds.

I think it’s United who are the joke, they are so badly run it’s almost comical.

I like it. The more they hold out for a ridiculous fee for wantaway, one year left on his contract Mount, the less they can complain when we hold out for an even more ridiculous figure for Caicedo.

60m for mount? 120m for Caicedo...

£55m for mount is unbelievable, he’s a decent player but when a player like that is going for that type of money you know football has gone absolutely nuts.

Have we turned all the phones off at the club?
From being headlines every day with this player wanting away and another in a taxi to Manchester and Sanchez at Chelsea, we have dissapeared from the map.
A while back Rice to Man City would be in the same sentance as "That means Caicedo to Arsenal"
SSN don't mention us at all.
Not complaining but just thinking something big will happen.

Until Chelsea curdled like last week's milk, Mount was a fabulous player, a regular England starter, world at his feet etc. I would imagine he'd thrive under a tough clear-minded manager like ten Bob.

Maybe, now we have been in the top flight for 6 years, and top ten for two, the other clubs and possibly even the agents have taken on board that you do not f*** with Brighton by blabbing to the media.

And yet the Glazers are about to pocket a fortune

Not wishing to appear rude but, have you written words to that effect every transfer window for the last 20 years?

Agree, but it's the agents that start a rumour to get a player moved for more money and commission.
Indeed. And perhaps the agents realise that in our case this will simply backfire.

According to Romano - whose every PL related tweet seems to mention Chelsea - Chelsea have been concentrating on their outgoing deals to get those sales done, then will be submitting their offer for Caceido. Interestingly, there are reports that Man Utd are turning their attention to Caceido following their third bid for Mount being turned down ! If they aren’t prepared to stump up £60m for Mount then god knows why they think they can turn their attention to Caceido !

I think Chelsea need to sell as much as they can by 30th June to have a chance of complying with FFP. Utd living in cuckoo land if they think Caicedo will be cheaper than Mount.

The reason we haven't heard much from Chelsea re Caicedo is because they need any new expenditure (or the vast majority of it) to be done after June 30th so it goes on next years accounts. Expect a bit more action from 1st July on that one.

Probably put out by Man Utd in an effort to get Chelsea to accept their bid for Mount.
