Chairman Barry Hearn is urging caretaker Martin Ling to make it impossible not to appoint him the next manager of Leyton Orient.

Hearn has already received nearly 70 applications for the job, including some candidates currently at First Division clubs, and intends to make an appointment within two weeks.

But Hearn admits Ling has improved his chances with back-to-back wins over Carlisle and Macclesfield since stepping in to replace the sacked Paul Brush.

He said: "I know Martin is desperate to become manager of Leyton Orient and if he wins every game in charge it will be hard not to pick him.

"I was looking for a manager with experience of getting out of this division but I would never close the door, and I've said to him 'make it impossible not to pick you'.

"I don't care if my dog picks the team so long as they win. It's totally governed by results. That's something Martin will be pleased to hear."

Is this the reason Coppout is delaying his decision? He's waiting to hear from Barry :tosser: Hearn

Hmm, there may be little room to squeeze a contract between Hearn's dog and the orient manager - but there should be a 'get-out' 'claws' in the 'tail' end of that contract so that Ling can 'go walkies', and perhaps 'fetch' a couple of 'attackers' in, and if they play badly 'arf' their wages or 'collar' someone else before he loses 'dis temper'.
They should relocate the ground to 'Kennel-worth' Road, and put it on a day-to-day 'leash' .

Well there was someone named 'Boneo' running their site !

70 applications for the new job? I wonder how many came from regulars on this site!

I don't suppose Twatty applied, though, seeing as how he is obviously simply an Albion fan in denial. Sad but a shrink should sort it...

You missed one. Hearn would be "barking" mad not to appoint Ling
