I accept that a bunch of flowers can be a bit lame in the romance stakes but you have to believe that it still exists.

A romantic gesture is something individual to that person, something that reflects their interests and passions. It needn't be lavish or expensive, just personal and intimate.

I think Redders meant that his lady friend is more intelligent that to fall for a bunch of flowers or some chocolates but instead looks for something a little deper.

This does not help to explain what exactly she's doing with that dumbass though.

A public declaration of love for each other
(more than just a bit of paper - try not paying your mortgage and telling your bank it is just a piece of paper)

Protection for the kids (if you're not married only the mother can give consent for an operation even if the partner is named on the birth certificate) and the same family name.

I thought the first time round that I would never trust anyone ever again and twice bitten etc.
Here I am 11 years later still madly in love (aaahhh pass the sick bags
:lolol: )

The best thing about marriage is getting married itself. I saw it as a celebration of my relationship with my wife ad therefore an excuse to drink for 12 hours solid and get loads of household goods bought for you. I love weddings. The only people who get hassled about them are the women themselves.

if you are a bloke and have children then it is in your interest to get married otherwise you have no parental rights whatsoever.

Also I keep telling my bruv to get hitched to his other half as he doesn't have a pot to piss in and she owns a hairdresser and about three houses.

LIVING IN SIN
the wedding present thing is a complete joke
most people co-habit for years before they get married, so they have the house and everything that goes with it,
then they have the cheek to send round a list from debenhams with things they want you to buy!!!!

its a tradition that no longer applys in today society in most cases!!!
