That's what my missus has just made herself.

Just to clarify, that's marmalade spread over lighted toasted bread, then covered with chedder cheese and put under the grill to finish.

No its not.
I have it on good authority that CUCUMBER is, in fact, the foulest substance on earth. Horrible watery muck, even the smell of it is enough to turn the stomach.

I'm guessing we're talking about a blandish cheddar here and only a small amount of marmalade. I think strong cheese is a no-no with citrus, too sharp.

A dash of something sour and hot, maybe tabasco, and I reckon it would be quite nice.

See, I beg to differ. Wouldn't a sharpish cheddar with a bit of bite to it contrast nicely with the bitter-sweetness of the marmalade?

I think we need more details Wozza - can you clarify on the strength of the cheddar and the brand of marmalade (thick cut, dark orange etc).

Thick cut and mature.

What we have there, I humbly submit, is an innovative yet tasty combination.

i dont mind a bit of cucumber

i think that maybe my dislike for marmalade may stem from my grandad insisting i had it for breakfast when i was young - when i completely hated it

Cheese and marmalade is FANTASTIC. Used to eat it all the time. You have cheese and pickle, savoury and sweet, so why not cheese and marmalade?

Just like peanut butter and marmalade. Or cucumber and marmite. Toast and mashed banana.

God I'm hungry! :D :flameboun
