Was I alone in thinking of several other people when it was announced that a Hereford hero was going to be introduced to the crowd at half time today.

Robbie
Gritt
Mayo
Baird

All spring to mind. I know in the last few minutes the Herford forward had the good sense to hit the ball into Ormerods hands and just about prevent my heart attack but he is not really a hero in the Reinelt sense is he?!

I'd imagine this was because he was at the game, not because we were ringing round 'Hereford heroes' to pay them to come down and be paraded onto the pitch.

Fair enough, it's just me being a sad, angry man tonight!!!

I still applauded him nonetheless.

I recall that save as being just as important as Reinalt's goal, and on the day I'd consider him to be just as big a hero.

Mark Ormerod is a legend in my eyes.

I didn't see the save against Hereford, obviously, but he was my favourite player at Gillingham and then that first season at the Withdean, how Mark Walton kept him out of the team is beyond me. :nono:

Agree with Icy. He's more of a Hereford hero than Mayo, isn't he? And that was a vital save, if it was straight at him then he got all his angles right and left his line at exactly the right time.
