Aberdeen Football Club has announced that manager Mark McGhee, along with assistants Scott Leitch and Colin Meldrum have left the Club.

Pittodrie Chairman Stewart Milne, expressing disappointment that things have not worked out as the Club had hoped, commented. "On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to thank Mark, Scott and Colin for their time at Aberdeen.

"It goes without saying that everyone at Aberdeen Football Club wishes Mark, Scott and Colin every success in the future."

The Dons' chairman confirmed that the search for a new manager would commence immediately without any timescale being set on the appointment, while details of interim arrangements being announced shortly.

not the biggest surprise - very few managers could survive a nine goal thumping and results haven't been good since so no sign of turning it around. Hope he gets a club at a decent level next time round. Knock him all you like - he is a good manager

Shame, but was on the cards. A great player and manager. It's long forgotten now but his Reading team of the 1990s played some fantastic football and almost got from the third tier to the first in two seasons. Plus he led Albion to their highest league finish in donkeys years.
