Does that not stop you being able to play on-line? I know that when I connected on line I had to download a new version of system software. I thought being chipped stopped you being able to do that?

Not at all, all on line functions and updates work 100% as normal, Nintendo haven't implemented nearly so strict protection, as say the xbox 360.

Possibly at some point they may have a new system update to try to block copied games, but not at the moment. The Wii has been chippable for over a year now and they've not managed to do anything yet...

In fact in the last few weeks, the virtual console games have also been cracked so all those are downloadable to create new channels also..
