Not sure how correct this is.

I had no idea where most of these musicians and bands originated from. Most surprising to me was Level 42

Never heard of a few of them either

I knew Level 42 were from the IOW.

I did not however, know, that Shed Seven were from York. For whatever reason, I'd always imagined they were from Liverpool.

Think in some cases they're being a bit literal with where an artist is "from". For example Nicola Roberts was born in Lincolnshire, sure...but myself and probably a few others assumed she was a scouser and yes, she grew up in Cheshire. So where is she actually "from" as a musician. Same for Joss Stone who was born in Kent but grew up in Devon

They've probably got the big ones correct and then had to fill in the blanks a bit with some of the shitter counties

Jethro Tull being from Bedfordshire seems to be based on that being where Mick Abrahams is from, who was only with the band for their first album.

I assume they'd comfortably take the Lancashire spot given they're normally described as being from Blackpool.

Interesting to see The Struts in there - most people won't have heard of them but they are quite big in the US and I've always been surprised that they have never quite cracked the home market.

Bar the obvious one (Beatles), South is way better than North on that map. IMO.

This is making me consider doing some sort of UK Bands/Artists Cup in the offseason while we're all bored...
