It is remarkable that Redknapp would risk a jail sentence or losing his job over a paltry sum of £40k.

Must have thought he was a MP by trying to get away with it (allegedly)

'Arry doing porridge is as likely as Blair being indicted for war crimes.

... and you can bet 'Arry has some good contacts.
Harry Redknapp to go on trial for tax evasion | Mail Online

BBC has it as well but I'm having trouble getting it right now

Curious, is it not, that the top major UK news outlets that appear to have carried the story earlier - the BBC and the Telegraph - now seem unable to reveal any details?

At least the Haringey Independent version is still readable.

All i say is how does a 60,s/70,s 'bit player' when there was no money in the game get to live on The Sandbanks ? Ask yourself that !!

Never been to Sandbanks so I'm probably being a bit unfair but from what I've heard about the place and the TV program's I've seen it actually seems quite a repulsive place full of new money and wankers like Harry and the current Bournemouth chairman.

I would LOVE IT if that twat got what has been coming for years and got sent down

I'm sure this sum of £40k is the fiddle with the most evidence and best chance of prosecution. I'm sure there are others.

The book Broken Dreams highlighted the fact that he never bought or sold a player unless he earnt £100k but the author was never sued by any of the managers he named. I have no side with Arry but what always amuses me about all of these cases like him, Ken Dodd, Lester Piggott etc they do what the accountants tells them they can do but the accountants never get done for conspiracy to evade tax or aiding and abetting the crime .
