I wonder though when Klinsmann saw Bastian Schweinsteiger very nearly get a hat-trick in the 3rd place play-off, did he have pangs about dropping him for the semi?

Odd decision given how much he and Lahm owned the left during Germany's previous games. A possible overreaction to Frings' absence?
