Rich Suvner
Skint years RIP
Regardless whether you dislike Manchester United, I am not keen on the move towards club ownership by big businessmen from abroad who don't have a history of love for the game - Brighton fans all know what can happen there. Whereas asset stripping may have acted as a motivation for some, new Premiership chairman without a love for the English game and its traditions are more likely to break up our league in order to move towards European super league structures... among other money making schemes - such as ticket price hikes.
However, do you not think that perhaps United fans are wanting their cake and eating it. Being a plc has brought considerable investment allowing them to strenthen their squad and status at the top of English football - providing them ever greater bargaining power and influence within the game, often to the financial detrement of smaller clubs.
Whilst I agree with the fears of United fans, floating on the stock exchange is not without risk and perhaps they should appreciate that things cannot always go their way.
