Radio 5 Live reported at tea time there were a lot of Feyonord fans in and around the stadium, and it looked like trouble was going to happen.

Another poor day for football.

i thought the belgian TV was so out of order, they kept focusing on the crown trouble, when the game was in play. saw some belgian guy getting repeatly getting punched.

british TV would not do this.

A friend of mine (and occasional visitor to this site - how you doing Ian?) has travelled extensively to Belgium to watch football, usually with Mechelen until they went belly-up. He says the hooligan problem in Belgium is worse than anywhere else in Europe, apparently it's still like 70's England over there for crowd trouble.

Amongst others last night it was interesting to hear that trouble around the Perugia v Dundee game was caused by "english" fans. Reminds me of Heysel '85 when the Scousers were insistent that those mainly responsible were fans of Chelsea, West Ham and Millwall.

Sounds like the Uefa Cup is like the Nationwide (as opposed to the Champions League and the Prem') - smaller clubs, smaller towns, that "provincial" element.

Saw some City fans today who went to the match, and they said that the Belgians were trying to make a name for themselves. The local Cool Cats were too busy getting off their tits on drugs and whoring to really get involved, but had to ensure that their honour was not impeached by showing the locals who was boss on occasion.

I saw this on Eurosport at lunchtime today, and I'm pretty sure it was the other way around. I think there were a few Man City fans in the home end and they looked to be taking a right hammering.

The Toon were up to their tricks last night too by the look of it. They had something like 80 fans arrested didn't they?

I dunno, you English people just cannot seem to behave yourselves.....
