It has been a pretty poor season in the Premier, Man United have won through being consistent rather than playing amazing football. Arsenal and Chelsea have been poor for large swathes of the season and yet could still finish third and fourth. Is football eating itself?

I agree and yet United may well win it with one of their highest ever points total - so is the general standard of premiership football in decline ? Probably end up with something really bizarre like Chelsea winning the Champions League.

For me bigger, stronger, quicker has replaced skill, technique and brains (there are exceptions). We're left with poorly motivated millionaire athletes rather than footballers. Its such a breath of fresh air to see a player like Vicente, playing with skill, technique and brains for the love of the game rather than huge money (I realise he is already a millionaire, and will be on a fair whack at our club, but not in the same league as an your average PL player).

I just wonder how many of the Man City footballers will be sitting at home tonight absolutely gutted. Not many I'd wager, maybe Joe Hart and Kompany. Football is dead.

It proves, love him or hate him Ferguson has no equal in British football. Big names are installed at clubs, have money to spend and still cannot overtake Man U. The closest to him is Arsen Wenger who has to compete with the rest on a lesser budget, and to think a few weeks ago some Arsenal fans were calling for him to go. Ferguson is a one-off i dont think we will see the like of him again.

Because Utd are a bunch of saints? What with cheaters, players missing drug tests, players out with prostitutes, players disobeying their manager and going out and gettin drunk before a match, and youth teamers expecting 60k a week as soon as they make their first team debut, and players who swear at tv cameras and abuse fans, and players who dive and cheat to get qpr players sent off and a penalty to give you a leg up against inferior opponents...

So much better, isn't it.

That is exactly the issue a team of mis-fits in my view starting with Tevez

Are they imploding though ?

Basically bitten of quite a bit more than they can chew and Fergie will take on all comers these days and win hands down.

Only on the domestic front. Other than the easy group games in the Champions League, they struggle to impose themselves now. Yep, there are two stock pictures of Rooney, one of his big wide scouse grin as he nets a pen against 10 man QPR and the other of him trooping of the pitch, scowling head down after another frustrating European pasting. Untidy's ageing midfield can't cope with teams who are not afraid to take the game to them.

or indeed many others !

Quite. There are very few teams with whom winning the premier would send a positive message that is good for football. Most forego integrity and honesty and fairplay for any advantage and the hope (and attainment) of success. For man city not to win the premier league to be a good thing, pretty much every other tea would need to not win the premier league, either.

My vote goes to Brighton next year, but Burnley fans would not agree!!

In my own strange world
In my opinion,I am glad City have f***ed up,they stand for everything I despise in football, which is a manufactured bunch of self-serving mercenaries only interested in personal glory and a big fat pay check.Love or hate Man.Utd. they do play as a team for each other and for the 75,000 odd that turn up at Old Trafford. They may spend big on players, but they do this because their wealth is built on the fact they are successful, which has been accumulated over many years, not from being successful because they are wealthy. They also have the greatest football manager in English football ever in Sir Alex Ferguson. If Gus ever leaves the Mighty Albion I wonder If Fergie would fancy a nice local club down by the seaside?
