I've always wet shaved so have never owned an electric shaver, but thought I'd give that a change. I'm looking for a good quality electric shaver that I can also use for excess "body" hair. Can anyone in NSC recommend a good make/model out there or even ones to avoid!

I've never wet-shaved - probably cos my Dad only used leccy ones. Not sure about "excess body hair", but for normal face shaving, I always go for the rotory ones rather than the side-to-side thingys, much prefer them.

iStubble is good for facial hair. Trims from 0.5 mm to 5.0mm. You can also remove the guard to remove hair completely to shape your beard.

Ask your local barber mate - they'll give you the best advice.

I got some Gillette Fusion blades a couple of weeks ago and I've never had a smoother shave without any pain with my sensitive dry skin. Well recommended although I only shave once a week. They're expensive though at 20 quid for five blades but last a long time.

Grow a beard. They are cool and women love them.

I was a Gillette Fusion Power man, until I got fed up of paying over the top for the blades. I've gone for a Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 now, and that tops the Fusion Power for closeness. I only shave once a week as well.

Can't beat a wet shave. Have tried various electric shavers but find they don't come close plus they leave me sore, but are handy if you need a tidy up.

I stick to the Gilette Fusion and like the little blade on the reverse for trimming sideburns etc. Although I might try that Wlikinson Hydro 5 if is cheaper and just as good. Plus I have a useful Panasonic gizmo for those tricky nasal and ear hairs.

I wonder what the keen cyclists on NSC use to shave their legs - do they discretely use the wife's lady shave or man up and have a proper waxing?

I got stopped in the street the other day by a girl with a clipboad who asked me what grooming products I used. She seemed puzzled when I replied 'Facebook'.

A couple of years ago I purchased a £100 electric shaver and it was no good to me so carried on wet shaving - happy to flog it to you for £30 if you want
