Tried to fix my behaviour once, right DIY F... up. Wife said she could do better but she says I still aint fixed!

Replaced the element in our electric oven once, well pleased with myself, been working fine since.

Strip, diagnose and repair [it was part of my training 35 years ago as an electrical and then mechanical technician]
Done tumble driers, dishwashers, lawn mowers, hair dryers, laptops, electric drills - latest was a pressure washer that kept tripping the house circuit.
Best tip is to take notes and make brief sketch diagrams as you dismantle, so when the new part arrives a week later you know how to put it back together again.
Only recent failure was the computer's scanner, put the AVO meter in various places but looked like a circuit board component had failed somewhere - since they are quite cheap, scrapped and bought a newer model.
