still think he was doing a good job in difficult circumstances?

Shame we never got that elusive target man, he is just what we need right now.

The man was a fool. Just like you.

It's time to shut up about this. It's boring. Move on. Everyone else has.

Well he got more points per game this season than DW so what's the point of this thread? He also signed 8 goal Revell and re-signed Guy Butters when most on here reckoned it was a mistake but maybe that doesn't count?

DW is doing a fine job however as did MM for the most part:clap:

Sorry, I must have missed us getting promoted!! Deano is doing a good job getting the team to play attractive football, but the fact remains that if we dont get promoted or get very very close then you cant say for a fact that the decision was a good one and that anyone is right or wrong.

When we got promoted under McGoo, we scraped it.

People give him too much credit IMHO.

And of course McGhee got the very best out of Jake Robinson too.

Dont get me wrong, he certainly had his faults but lets not kid ourselves, McGhee done some great things at this club and him falling out with/getting rid of players like Knight, CKR & Trolley were all excellent news. Im pretty sure that if those players were still here the team morale would be nowhere near what it is now, and it is that that has played a massive part in what Wendy has achieved so far.

Wilkins may be a better manager than McGhee. Who knows? Time will probably tell.

I did quite like McGhee, but understand why others didn't. Needless to say though there is nothing in his record that says he did that badly with us. The one season he failed with us was when we had an expectation of finishing 4th from bottom. Quoting games won against games played means nothing, no manager in the world could have got us into the top half of the table.

As I say time will tell who is the better manager, but for now, we are mid-table, exactly where McGhee left us. And anyone who thinks that they've won the argument about McGhee just by our current situation is the 'fool' Cocksucker talks about.
