You know that south American bloke on the payroll, the one from Uruguay called Gus Poyet - he's the manager, you know the one who Tony Bloom appointed as manager just over a year ago - well, HE rates wood and thank f*** he's not a negative tosser writing off an 18 year old who had the bollocks to take a penalty on his debut some 24 hours or so after coming here. Honestly what the hell are you two on?

Whoah, you have the wrong end of the stick, my friend. I was trying to say he made the mistake in putting Glenn on the bench rather than Ashley. Of course he should start Wood. I'll have you know, I'm rather positive and don't think I've ever said anything that negative actually.

So we have the perfect team then do we. No point in debating anything about the Albion on here then. The 18 year old with Barnes will get us the goals and no need to talk about it ever again then.

Writing off ANY player after ONE game in which he had the guts to step up for a penalty is not being negative, with comments such as "We need to find a striker, it's not this new lad is it?" no? Sorry mate but do you realise just how ridiculous that sounds?

You seriously think that an 18 year old, with one league goal in 30 odd games, is the answer to all of our striker problems?? Nobody has once said he's shit, to say he's not the man who will get 20 goals a season is not negativity, its common sense. He's a good addition, and was needed, but he's not THE striker we need.

Maybe, just maybe the fact that he's fit and a big strong lad will give barnes AND murray that bit of pressure they need to start performing the way we know they can, or maybe just maybe he could even be another bobby. Right now you just do not know and writing him off is wrong on so many levels.

We have for a long time and still do need a goal poacher if we are to get automatic poacher. A lazy player who can only pick up loose balls in or near the goal and put them in the net not chase around making chances as we have plenty of those. Didnt we have one who could have been brought on for the last 20 mins what was his name Nicky ? We need a younger version

Here we go again, your still not over the fact I contemplated going as an u16 to a football match. Not only is that pathetic, but to remember me, and still go on about it perhaps suggests you leave a very dull life. Anyway, I decided not to go anyway, and went to the away leg, as an U16 instead so you can have another little rant about that if you like.

Nowhere did i say i've written him off, which suggests you've completely over-reacted to my post, not the first time. All i've said is that its not negativity to state that Woods is not the 20 goal striker everybody wants, to put that amount of pressure on an 18 year old is stupid, even more so when he's completely unproven. He's a hold up player, similar to Murray, not a poacher which is what we seemingly needed. Still, AS I SAID, a good addition to the squad.

Oh, and again as i've said in my first post, he has scored one league goal before coming here, not 3.

I have not written him off, just not expecting him at the age of 18 to come in and shoot us into the Championship. He`s one for the future. Christ Barnes is still learning the game as well.
Big difference betwen realism and negativity. If Poyet thinks he is the one for this season then he wont be bringing anyone else in will he.
I mean we`ve got Sandanza when he returns haven`t we ?

True, we're only an ickle club, but the Chairman is wealthy and won't sell any of the Holy Trinity to a club lower than the Prem.

Unforutunately that aint true ReadingPosh. Money talks and its all about how much profit he can make, not about what division that money comes from.
