Usually I get the train down to Brighton on matchday however today I will be driving. Does anyone else have to endure the M25 of a night game? I join it at Heathrow and would ideally like to know whats the latest I should leave it. Setting off at 3ish will see me avoid the traffic but arrive far earlier than id like. Does anyone else have experience of this god awful motoerway from 4pm onwards?? I usually avoid it like the plague at that time so not entirely sure how long it will take me.

Cheers in advance

The M25 is a lottery every single day. sometimes good, sometimes AWFUL!

if you've got time to spare use it! better to just chill at the Amex than be frustrated in a traffic jam worrying if you're going to make it. where are you parking? the P&R's fill up quickly around half 6ish for evening games...

i think the park and rides open at 5pm so if you get here earlier than that you'll have to wait somewhere. (i.e. BP garage if you're parking at mill road one.)

if i were you i'd leave at 3.30pm, 4pm latest...

Luckiy I only have to join it for one junction, Reigate Hill, and then leave, but, and this echoes the above post, that junction is the bastard spawn from hell, especially when it's dark and raining, so use as much spare time as possible. I join that stretch of motorway about 1730hrs, and on average I'm in Brighton an hour later. But please, please don't take my word for it because one little thing can add 30 minutes on to your journey.

Also don't forget that the A23 is borked from just after Pees Pottage to the other side of Handcross due to the 40mph restrictions and roadworks.

Good luck.

Will street park at the bottom of coldean lane on the other side of Lewes Road. Again not entirely sure what time this clogs up as well. Will probably just bite the bullet then and leave at 3.30 ish. If I'm that early ill stop off at Pease Pottage for some grub.

Dont eat at Pease Pottage, book in at the East Stand Brasserie, Pie, Mash, Peas and gravy, plus a pint for £10, sounds good value to me and you have the tv's to watch previous game footage etc

Might steer clear of amex catering for a while. Was on the receiving end of some seriously dodgy burger on Saturday which is still repeating on me

I work at Heathrow and easily commute within an hour and 15 every day. The only time where its completely manic is Fridays

Mt brother lives in Feltham and works at Heathrow and used to leave at 5.30 and it was a little tight on a couple of occasions but he still didn't miss kick off. However last evening game he left Feltham at 5.00pm and will this evening, he arrived in time to buy fish and chips in Moulscombe, park up walk up to The Amex and have a pint before kick off so he told me when I just phoned him to ask..

I normally join M25 from M3 around 4.30pm and normally after a stop at Pease Pottage or Hickstead , arrive at Mithras House around 6.15/6.30pm.
Providing there no accidents en route its a normally ok.

That's exactly what I do coming from the other side of the M25, joining at A12 or A13.
See you at Pease pottage with any luck!

I'd suggest you get to Falmer (the Swan or the Amex) as early as you can as there may be longer than usual queues on the A27.(Barrier repairs caused long tailbacks this morning)

The fastest I can do Brighton ( bottom of Coldean lane) from Leigh via the A127 is 1 1/2 hrs. The longest I have taken is 4 hours. It's a complete toss up whenever you set tyre on that f***ing nightmare road.

I come down to every home game from Lewisham so take the route regularly. It depends which side of the M25 you are coming from. IF its near Dartford I would leave 2 hours to be on the safe side.

Probably won't affect too many people, but they've had major delays around 16-17 today due to a serious accident.
