[Travel] M23 Roadworks

Just driven south down the M23 from the M25 and noticed there is no lighting at any of the average speed cameras. I assume they must work in the dark, but how?

I have no wish to speed along there in the normal course of events but at 2am the road was pretty empty and an extra 10mph would have been safe.

Think they’re all infrared......that said I’ve ‘risked’ 60mph or v close to it several times along the stretch recently and not had a ticket
