Heard a song last night played whilst waiting for 'The Other Smiths' (top tribute band) to come on. Everyone around me seemed to know what the lyrics, but I had never heard it before.

I think the chorus went something like

I had a bit of a problem with the whole 'Madchester' scene, despite living through it. Favourite local bands being New Order, The Fall and The Chameleons meant I tended to ignore the likes of the Carpets, who did write some good tunes, but also some utter shi e

Yeah definatley the Oldham Athletic supporting Carpets. Excellent band, but if your gonna download " this is how it feels" try & get hold of the "Carter USM" version, its absolute quality!

'Inspiral Carpets-The singles' is on CD and video. They played this weekend at a couple of festivals. Always remember Chris Evans playing Saturn 5 on Big Breakfast and then being so into it that he played it again and just about the whole crew danced to it...played it at my wedding with the same reaction!
