for Saturday's game and playing for the youth team at Blackburn tonight.

Kerry or Reid will get the LB position against Leicester.

No talk of a striker on his way though :

Good move that. It would be great to progress further in the Cup and we should put out our best team possible.

If we could reach the semis, at least, it would do the kids' confidence a power of good.

Gatting is available after his injury scare so I'm pleased about that.

Further evidence if any is needed that McGhee knows what he is doing.

And IMO quite rightly. What I like about McGhee is that he thinks the long-term. Giving Lynch a break is better for his long-term development and improving the youth team will mean that they have a better chance of reaching the next round.

As I posted above, a decent run in the Cup would do wonders for them and ultimately improve all the kids as players - which is better for BHA in the long run.

McGhee's also right when he says that young players need to come in and out a bit before they establish themselves: they shouldn't think it's too easy. Even Wayne Rooney wasn't a fixture in the Everton team after his debut.

The Palace youth team are still in it. I think someone on the Palace board worked out that if we both won our matches then it would be a Brighton v Palace final.

dont you mean Joel Lynch McGhee :lolol:

I think this is a great move by McGhee. If I was in charge I'd be tempted to give Robinson a run out too (if he's still eligible?).
