"Gulp!" indeed. No way that this team should be getting relegated but the extreme nature of 1) injuries to bowlers and 2) bad pitches affecting the batsmen earlier in the season has led to this position.

It is going to be tight now and, especially with Yorkshire to play twice, we will do well to stay up with any degree of comfort.
