It's a one off £2k ( just over a grand after tax and NI ) and an extra tenner a week.

fair point. though i now read that LU are employing 140 staff to specific cover night trains, and one union complaint is that the bonus is only for 1000 affected drivers, while another 19000 dont get the bonus. so by the same token i wouldn't want to switch to nights for the small amount on offer (if it where regular, for a hand full of weeks i might), i wouldnt expect to get a bonus because someone else does.

the question this raises is have the unions attempts to get a deal across all members been at the expense of a better deal for those affect by the change?

(and i have worked night, late, early shifts)
