Crewe manager Dario Gradi has revealed that striker Luke Rodgers is set for transfer talks with Port Vale after accepting a bid of £30,000.

Rodgers has scored just three goals for the Alex this season.

And Gradi told Crewe's official website: "I think Luke is set to have talks with Port Vale.

"He has said he wants to remain playing in this league, so I would imagine Port Vale have a good chance of him accepting their terms."

Probably because of his performance for us on the last day of the season away to Shrewsbury. He was just electric pace all afternoon, and although plenty would say our players were not exactly focussed that day, I doubt they could have done much to keep up with him anyway. He looked mustard, and was only about 18 at the time.

Sometimes you are on the receiving end of a performance that you never forget.

Agreed. Though heard that day from someone that he had what is now known as Leon Knight Attitude-itis .

Very true, two performances against us that stick in the memory were from Keith Cassells of Oxford against us in my first game at the Goldstone, then Ricky Otto of Orient a few years later, both were exceptional but I don't think they achieved much after that.
