This thread seems to have dried up of late. Presumably not many of our brotherhood are tuning in much lately.

Or maybe not admitting to it.

The Argus have gone with a few recent stories relating to the show. Some of the public comments underneath the articles are straight to the point.

Not watched a second, but will be pleased for Ian if Amy does well. When do we find out who 'wins'?

I haven’t watched a minute but I have read the totally ott and frankly nasty posts on the Argus site aimed at Ian Hart. There are some very unpleasant people out there.

I watched about 2 or 3 minutes this week. I had really low expectations, and was surprised to see that it was worse than I feared.

I watched a couple of episodes with my son last week. I was surprised to see that it was almost exactly the same as Big Brother used to be when I used to watch that fifteen or so years ago.

Plenty of unpleasant people on here too remember.

I echo your comment. Just one question. What in your opinion constitutes 'doing well'?

Not having a clue how the programme works, but assuming there’s some kind of ‘winner’ at the end, that would be the obvious answer.

But beyond that, just to come out of it as one of the ‘people the public warms to’, and who can hopefully make herself a decent little profit off the back of it - rather than one of those who gets pilloried in the tabloids as a pantomime villain for bullying/bitching/racism/sexism/cheating etc - the usual faux outrage things these programmes like to hoist people into the stocks of contemporary public opinion for, and then pelt them with relentlessly for a fortnight or so. Mob soon forgets them and moves on; they’re left with a lifelong scar. That’s the downside of playing this game, and hope for Amy’s (and Ian’s) sake it doesn’t befall her.

There are some very mad people out there and most of them seem to post below the line on The Argus site. I'd take bad comments from that shower of green-ink wielding fruitcakes as a badge of honour.
