At my heaviest about 15 years ago I was 22st 9lb (144 kg) After plateauing many times I am now down to 15st 9lb (98kg ish) and Ive managed to keep it off

Im 5' 10'' and for health reasons need to shed a final 2 and half stone (15kg) Starting today

I'm hoping to make it down to 15st, by the end of the year.
Glad to hear it can be done and kept off.

Good luck, with your efforts.

1 Mar 25: 79.2kg (12st 7lb)

That’s 8.4kg (over 18.5lb) I’ve lost since 1 November, mainly down to cutting out snacking between meals. Since May last year I’ve managed to lose 11kg.

I must’ve been eating a hell of a lot of snacks!

I’ve definitely noticed running, 5 a side football and cycling up hills is a lot easier without the extra timber.

I need to get back into this after taking my eye off the ball. Birthday out of the way, but Easter is up ahead and I'm a sucker for hot cross buns and all the chocolate!

Congratulations to everyone who's managed to stick with it. I felt quite nostalgic reading the last couple of pages as it sounded just like me over the last 30 years. I stopped smoking in the 90s and very quickly started putting on weight which I then set about trying to lose. I was constantly losing 20 pounds with one diet/eating philosophy or another. They would work for a while, sometimes months but eventually I caved and it all went back on again. That was my story for 3 decades.

I think if you can lose weight by permanently changing your eating habits, that’s great. The ideal solution. For many of us though, there are physical or psychological factors that make that impossible. Last October I started taking Mounjaro, and that’s finally done the job for me. I won’t hijack the thread (and there is another one on the subject anyway) but if anyone feels depressed that no solution ever works for long enough, you might want to look into it as a possible solution. You still have to do the work but without the 'food noise' I happily eat less and exercise more. MJ makes it easier. I’ve been losing a slow and steady 1.5 lbs a week since October which is exactly what I want. YMMV but I’m nervous about big sudden shifts in weight. Not always the healthiest way. But your decision.

For people who've started walking regularly I can recommend an NHS app called Active10. It’s very simple. It logs your brisk minutes (ie not just strolling), and you set a daily target in 10 minute chunks. I aim for 30 minutes of stiff walking a day and it’s made a real difference. Have started jogging again too.

Good luck to all.

A no change month. My brain in resistance mode to a lower reset.

Buy chocolate hot cross buns to get your fix of both??? Sadly, though, this would only work if you avoid eating chocolate chocolate!
