I would give the brilliant Out Of Africa my vote, followed closely by Clockwork Orange, which is genius.
Some of the war-dramas like Dambusters had decent rousing stuff, but personally I couldn't listen without the visuals.
My favourite film opening scene was Woody Allen's Manhattan, with an amazing night skyline, lit by rockets. The music is a revelation with that visual, and vice versa.

I rather like the Gladiator soundtrack.
Although more chart related songs than a movie score, I thought that the soundtrack for Cruel Intentions (The first one) was good.
