For anyone that is coming to watch or picking up people from the bike ride, I am operating a park and ride scheme from the race course. Its £10.50 per car and you will get parking for the day, transport to the finish line and back and also your bike transported back to the course when you finish.

call 01273 603580 if you want to book or do it on line at www.brighton-racecourse.co.uk

we are providing toilets and refreshements at the course as well.

Lots of Vaseline and Nurofen. If you forget the Vaseline, there is usually someone in the Public toilets on Clapham common with some spare.

Gel seat is also quite good.

I'm also doing it:wave: Start time of 8:00 :p

Let's all do it in the stripe's.:clap2:

Should be fun going through Croyden:eek:

I don't think the London to Brighton bike ride actually passes through Croydon, Yoda. I'm sure it goes down through Mitcham, then Carshalton, Wallington, getting onto the A23 via Coulsdon. May be wrong though.

1. Do not even think about attempting to cycle up the Beacon unless you have a soopa-doopa bike with at least 21 gears.

2. Pace yourself.

3. Imbibe lots of water.

4. Sartorial tip: You must certainly wear the colours, but you may like to consider an old-fashioned cotton replica shirt (B.Cal/Phoenix Brewery vintage?) - definitely less, er, sweaty.

You want some tips?
Make sure you have a bike (there's plenty in Croydon to pick up on the way)
Make sure you start in London.
Make sure you finish in Brighton.
Put stabalizers on the bike.

saddle soreness is easily overcome . . .by practicing a bit . . . .do 20 minutes tomorrow . . . .30 on Monday . . .45 on thurs, it'll toughen you up to the extent you wont have a problem on the L_B run and you may not even notice some of the allegedly 'gay clique' on NSC if they sneak up on you from from behind

Ditchling Beacon's okay if primed by 3 or 4 pints in the village first.

The tip for our team has always been to take two water bottles - one full of water, the other a quality burgundy. It works.

I'll be there again this year.
