I think we need to accept that he's not the Elliott Bennett of old. He was brilliant in the 3rd division for us, and Naarch got a couple of good years out of him. But since then he's had injury problems, and has barely kicked a ball in anger this season. That is not a recipe for a decent short-term loan deal. We simply don't need him. We need to move away from short term loan deals unless its plugging a gap that really needs plugging - this doesn't. We already have other options out wide, Bennett is not the answer short or long term.

The loan market allows us to bring in better quality players, that we couldnt afford or get normally. Yes it can go wrong like Best and Gardner who was rubbish for us but has been good for Forest, but in most cases it helps a team overcome a short term problem like ours.

And how do you know for certain that he hasn't tried. It could just be a case of nothing better than what we've got was available and worthwhile for us

Like nearly everybody else on here I do not have a data bank of available players but the top clubs will have players like Tex who are not in their 25 man squad and be better than we have available. Failing that I would throw the ball to Colunga and say go and prove what you can do.
