I don't believe there is any insult there. It comes with age and experience that we become more 'conservative'

If I thought for a moment he was suggesting you, me or any other person with an IQ above single figures was, in any way, supporting this current cabal that likes to call itself 'Conservative' I would be in there before you even got your shoes on

This feels like it would be a good thing. Siphon the nutters off to the left (Momentum) and right (UKIP types) and leave the grown ups to fight it out in the middle. I feel we’d have much better leaders of centrist parties because the membership of both major parties at the moment skews towards the margins of swivel eyed loons (Tories) and socialist Union types (Labour)

it would probably lead to break up of the current parties as smaller factions would have more chance. this is what we see abroad and i'm inclinded to think this is a good thing.

This. Both our main parties already essentially are coalitions. Were it not for electoral realpolitik, there’s no reason why Jeremy Corbyn and Tony Blair, or Jacob Rees-Mogg and Rory Stewart, would occupy the same party. It also means that the extreme fringe has the power to wield too much political influence, generally the leader of a right wing coalition of moderate and zealots wouldn’t end up with Truss as leader, nor would one on the left lead to Corbyn as leader.

No I didn’t. But don’t forget it isn’t very long ago the Labour members saw fit to vote in Corbyn. And before that picked Ed over David. The fringe lunatics still have far too much influence over BOTH parties, even if Labour have managed to elect a sensible one this time around.

We are currently governed by a coalition of right wing politicians. It's just that they're all in the same party. We'd be no more worse off than we have been for most of my adult life.

Liz Truss should call a general election if she wants to ditch Conservative policies from the Boris Johnson era, Nadine Dorries has said.

Ms Dorries stood down as culture secretary when Ms Truss - who she backed in the Tory leadership contest - succeeded Mr Johnson as prime minister.

In a tweet, she claimed Ms Truss had halted policies she had championed.

I'll give Mary some credit. I get the impression she would like to answer questions, but they are a bit tricky for her. The bungle**** had a pre planned script and if that wasn't enough he came out with the oh so funny Captain Hindsight comment or some other such unfunny ****ish quip.

That’s no comfort to Europeans now under right wing coalitions.

I’m actually relaxed about either system under the ‘what will be, will be’ life doctrine. But worldly-wise enough to know that a PR House of Commons wouldn’t be a unicorns ‘progressive alliance’ ad infinitum, not facing daily attacks from the media and social media to bring it down. Long-term colleagues and associates of mine heavily involved in politics, were as follows:
- A lifelong LP Brightonian, crikey he hated the Greens. He almost wanted to hit me for voting Lucas.
- The righthand LP person to Nancy Platts, 2010 candidate for Kemp Town. She/they despised the Greens,
- I kind of knew the city’s Lib Dem ‘big whigs’ through work, they loathed Labour.

A narrative only on social media in recent years, is of a Progressive Alliance. Aside from frustrated anti-Tories sitting at home in Brighton or Hastings chatting about it, in reality all the parties have tunnel vision for themselves. Maximising their numbers in MP’s and councillors, their power.

That will continue under any voting system.
