Simply because I believe we would sell Joao Pedro, Bart, and Kaoru before him and no way would we sell 4 🤞
I think he will go. He’s ideal for a bigger club lacking in that area. City is the obvious destination. i hope I’m wrong.

Ferdi. I wonder if he’ll need another season to get over his sore toe though

I am concerned that any news about him seems to be embargoed. Weirdest long term injury I can ever remember.

Maybe I’m wrong about being 100% certain though and he’ll retire?

I have wondered if he will go out on loan. It will be rather cruel though, if signing for an EPL club and also getting promotion to the EPL with Sunderland, he ended up in The Championship.

I saw a loan to Sunderland suggested

But .... but ... I've read so many times that he's been promised, 100%, that he will be involved with the first team squad and won't on any account be sent out on loan. So many times, that it absolutely must be true!

I am certain he will be with us next season.
I think the passing interest he’s had from other PL Clubs and Clubs in Europe, partly because of his performances with Netherlands, if a we had an offer for around £55-65m from a Club that could offer him regular Champions League football (like Bayern or Real Madrid) we’d have difficulty keeping him - that’s enough of a possibility for me not to be convinced absolutely 100% he will still be with us in September.

Fair enough. I’m 100% confident he’ll still be a seagul come September.

Surely the correct answer is "none"? Nothing in life is certain and football certainly isn't. :moo:

Might be better to make a list of who is very unlikely to go instead.
You can't be certain of that...

The playing squad. Can only see more injuries at his age, doesn’t add a great deal to the team anymore in my view, takes up wages and a squad spot.
From what I have gleaned, he is widely respected and needed for the impact he has in the changing room. Also, when looking at his injury form this season is an outlier.

Probably easier to say who I think we will lose. Going by the rumours, it could be Pedro, Mitoma, Bart, O'Riley, Lamptey, JPVH, Baleba and Pervis. All I can say is I f***ing hope not. This, it would seem, is the eternal issue with clubs like ours, you start to put a promising 11 together, and in come the vultures, but then I guess we do the same to those below us in the pecking order. I was thinking back to the 70's and 80's where teams stayed pretty stable season after season ( at least my fading memory sees it that way)
