Peterborough have opened talks to sign Liam Dickinson permanently from Brighton.

Striker Dickinson, 24, made little impact at League One Brighton after a £300,000 move from Derby last summer.

He was loaned out to Championship strugglers Posh in February - as revealed by Mirror Football .

And the lanky forward has scored three goals in seven games for struggling United.

Dickinson's form has not been enough to prevent Peterborough returning to League One.

But new Posh boss Gary Johnson is keen to sign the former Stockport marksman in the summer in a deal worth around £170,000
