The non-cynical response. "Yaaaayyy!!! Liam is staying"

The cycnical response. "That means it's gonna take some SERIOUS wonga to let him go"

Either way. TOP news

Meopham, Kent.
This would be great news, and a perfect start to our summer dealings.

Strange start to next season ??? ?

Great news either way, either he now gets to stay for a lot longer, or if we do suffer the pain of losing him - they will need to pay up a fair bit !!

I think the strange start, is the Carling Cup being the first fixture of the season

I heard he was staying and hopefully getting an extention a few months ago - he loves it down here.

Will a 5 year contract prevent him from leaving though,if a prem club comes in offering 25k a week he is not going to want to stay with us and who could blame him.

Come on pal, you manage to turn every positive into a negative. A youngster we signed for free, and is our player of the season, is going to sign a new contract!!! Be Happy

I am happy ,just pointing out contracts in football are worthless apart from raising the value of a player or manager.Players have short carreers that can be cut even shorter by injury, look at Tanno, they have to earn as much as they can while they can

Bollox argument that is no longer relevant a decent championship and above player will earn more in 10 years than the average joe earns in a lifetime. Also I do agree about contracts being worthless but at least it means we should get a decent transfer fee for a player that goes.

Do you really think that this is relevent to everyday life ? i bet he will be earning id say properly 15,000 a week, when a lot of people dont earn that in a year so dont go making out footballers need every penny they can get.
BORING.
Even if a player did get injuried they would have some kind of cover yeah wouldnt get them the wages get at present club for life but would get a payment and still be with club signed too until end of contract and that still be about 500 times what a normal average joe earns in a year so do please
Shut up its sooo tedious

A 5 year contract may still not keep him if a prem club comes knocking, despite your childish drivel
