What did you think? I thought he was very ordinary.

Great player, probably a great guy and a big name on our side in the bad old days.. The fact that he is where he is with absolutely NO chance of taking over as the manager says it all.

Yet he seems to be a legend with most fans, is this for what he did or because he was so obviously on the fan's side when it looked hopeless?

When Brady was manager it was exciting times, I seem to remember he brought the crowds back in. Certainly, he gained his status with us by fronting the consortium that eventually ousted Archer and Co. Top man.

In the circumstances, Liam got us playing some great stuff for quite a while. In better times I think he'd be worth another go

An important part of the Albion's past, but no great shakes as a manager. He didn't do much at Celtic - maybe he was too nice a guy?
He's found his niche at Arsenal, and if that helps us I'm glad of that - I'm sure he has a soft spot for us. Good mates with DK - but DK has never invited him back to manage again although he's had several opportunities.
Good luck to him, may he develop lots of kids for Arsenal who don't quite make it for them - but do for us!

Brady - great player - great coup for us to get that quality to come down here.

Unfortunately walked straight into a disaster. so difficult to judge whether he could have been anything better.

Liam Brady did everything he could for us at the time and has remained good pals with Dick Knight.

He was the reason we got Sidwell on loan and is the reason we have been offered some of their younger squad members.

Brady is a great friend of the Albion.

Shame about his Albion managerial record. When he took over in November 93 (cracking news at the time) we were second bottom in the old 2nd.

When he left after the 3-0 home drubbing to Walsall almost exactly two years later - we were second bottom of the old 2nd.

Remember getting very excited when there were rumours of him pulling his boots back on.

Also recall a pitch invasion at half time against Notts County, I think, in Sept 95 when he came out for a chat with us in the centre circle.

It's what he did AFTER that that matters. A definite legend.

Brady is an absolute legend, mainly for his fronting of the consortium and opposition to the Archer/Belotti regime.

His record as manager- hmm. Some great football, predictably. Also good for contacts. I personally believe he took the Celtic job too soon, experience is essential when walking into such a big position. With us he had nothing to work with, i bet it was a complete nightmare to try to run; didnt we at one point have a first team squad of summat ridiculous like 18? And half of them were in their mid-30's (Byrne, Foster etc).

But still, LEGEND

I can remember his first game as manager at the Goldstone when he had the players doing sprints etc from one side of the pitch to the other and proper warm up routines. He was like a breath of fresh air.

The fact that in the shiit times he even came gave us some self respect.

Ok we didn't move forward but we didn't move backwards and he gave the face for the takeover.

His affection for us has been and will be so important over the next few years.

Imagine , you're in the Arsenal u21's and brady pulls you to one side and says I've got a great opportunity for you. A season at the albion. Got to make you feel good as a youngster.

(unlike Coppell pulling a youngster to one side - allegedly)
