Although Cook has continued to play throughout for Bournemouth, I would imagine Dunk will have missed a significant amount training and needs to catch up.

Dunk was on the bench a few games back as I recall but now we are committed to a more aggressive appoach in order to seek wins rather than draws I suspect that either Greer/elAbd or the more adaptable Calderon will often be the only defenders on the bench with more space being given to attacking midfielders or forwards. If we follow that policy I can see us rotating players in and out of the matchday squad completely in favour of increasing our attacking options off the bench and on that basis I can see Dunk being unlikely to return to the senior eighteen this season. If that is the case I'm afraid I can have little sympathy. We are all - in the main - the authors of our own destiny.

Harsh.

Seeing as he was charged with two offences, and has been found not guilty of one, and faces a retrial for the other.

not really - he should have had more sense than to be there - the door wasnt locked and all other considerations aside, nothing stopped him from walking through it bearing in mind that all young footballers recieve "education" and advice on how to conduct themselves. I am assuming he and the others are all innocent of all charges until proved otherwise but whatever the outcome the fact remains that they put themselves in a situation which they will all have been pretty expressly counselled against.

Gus only tends to have one defensive player on the bench at the moment (other than the keeper). This spot is usually taken by Calderon as he provides full back cover, as well as centre back, whereas dunk is primarily just a centre back, so Calderon provides more flexibility as cover. He was last on the bench when Bruno was injured and Calderon was playing. His strength as centre back meant he started when El Abd was out.

I think Dunk is someone who, if he doesn't start, will only be on the bench when Bruno or Calderon is out injured (unless there is specific concerns about one of our centre backs making it through the whole game).
