Easy 10
Brain dead MUG SHEEP
This one is due to appear in tomorrows edition. Honestly, I ask you...
I was delighted that Charles Hoile pointed out how unworkable Falmer would be were West Bromwich Albion to build their "football stadium" there. Brighton already has one football team playing at nearby Withdean, so why we need yet another football team moving in is quite beyond me. It is patently obvious there simply isn't enough room at Falmer to build an 85,000 all-seater stadium, and the towering arch over the stadium would be a blight on the landscape. I have also found football fans to be a violent, unpleasant breed of people. They shout loudly at random and often inappropriate moments. They wear gaudy, ill-fitting clothes. They have short "cropped" hair, often have ear-rings, and once I saw one fan who had several tattoo's on his arms. Is this really the type of person we are wanting to attract to the picture-postcard village of Falmer ?
This is all The Albions own fault anyway. They had a perfectly decent stadium at Gillingham which they decided to sell, so they effectively made themselves homeless. Then they disgracefully got rid of David Bellotti, one of the sharpest business minds in Sussex, who only ever had the best interests of the club at heart and worked tirelessly on their behalf. And to cap it all, they waste all the money from the sale of the ground on buying new players like Steve Coppell and Mark McGhee, who havn't even played for years. Even the manager Micky Adams is now banged up in some Spanish prison for drink-driving. The club is a total disgrace from top to bottom, no wonder they're scrambling around near the bottom of Division 3. I ask you, what a way to run a business.
Chairman Leon Knight should resign NOW, and leave the Falmer residents alone to continue their tranquil farming lifestyle in the peace and quiet they deserve.
