I was delighted to learn of Lewes District Council's (LDC) move to challenge the outrageous decision by John Prescott to allow the stadium at Falmer to go ahead.

The last thing the wonderful people of Falmer need is hundreds of hooligans rampaging through the village and urinating in the pond.

So what if LDC didn't consult the electorate and stifled debate on the matter? These councillors are highly educated and they know what is best for us and our taxes.

It would an absolute travesty if that is not awarded a place in NSC Gold. Mods please see to it and I'd like to know who the genius responsible is in the fullness of time.

Mind you, it wouldn't be the first outrageous non-award of 'gold' status. How the 'Write your own Angie Rowland' complaint thread didn't make it I'll never know. There were some brilliant offerings on there, brought the very best out which is why I started it - I knew it would. Maybe it's just a clique carve-up...

I also think the Argus deserve some sort of award for being the newspaper to have unwittingly published the most wind-up letters in the past 12 months.

Maybe an inscribed plank.

This habit of Conservative (and Liberal) Councillors of deliberately stifling debate on matters is becoming a widespread occurrence. It is really nasty on their part. The Labour Government have set up the Scrutiny Committee system which they do not use, because if means thinking and scrutinising.

It is not just Lewes Council, it is Adur as well. What is means from their arrogant selves is "that we are in power and the plebs should be our lackeys and should not be heard or even given a chance to speak".

I expect a lot of people have got their number.

I said it was a Class War from the very beginning. Those bastards will not change. They will lie and cheat and resort to a dirty tricks campaign before they change.

PS: It is NOT a joke. That is their thinking process. I have known Councillors to shout to the public to "Shut Up!" in the Council Chamber in front of hundreds of people and the press.

It could be a wind-up from somebody who knows!
