I really hope the recent embargo with Forster has not severely dented his reputation amongst fans.

I truely believe Forster has been such a good professional and player for us the last seasons. On the pitch, depsite being 36, he gives one hundred percent every game, trying to get on loose ends. I wish every player had this drive and ambition. Off the pitch, he seems to completely have his head screwed on, i always enjoy listening to his thoughts, both on seaguls world and in the argus.

I can completely understand where he is coming from. Bet as always, albion are leaving it late to tell him about his future. He has done so well this season, deserves a contract now. Remember, these guys have to pay their bills, look after family etc.

He is one of my favourite players of the last 10 years - Just a shame this has happened IMHO

I think we should give the players the benefit of the doubt, there has never been a player who claims they have been dealt well with respect to contract renewal timings etc

If he has done what has been said then stop apologizing for him because he is a 36 year old man doing a job. He is on a fixed term contract like say any builder, he was at work and to hand a note like that to his boss would in most jobs get you sacked. Footballers have no f***ing idea.

Totally agree Kalinx.
Forster could be unemployed in 4 months time. After the impeccable service he has given this club, he at least deserves to know where he stands as regards a new contract. If the club are still giving him the brush-off on contract talks, then I think thats pretty shabby.

his problem one suspects is the timing of awarding el abd a contract while not talking to him. It wasn't exactly subtle on the club's part and I think I could easily put myself in his position and get an inkling of how he must be feeling.

Worryingly, half of our team are potentially in the same position..............

I have said it before and I will say it again. This smells like an agent VERY BADLY advising his client in an effort to sort a new contract before the club is ready to look at it. Poyet's interview also suggests that there may be a little niggle between the Gus and Nicky. No player is bigger than the club. We have Murray, Dickinson (who was excellent yesterday), Holroyd. If he stays great if not life goes on. We need to concentrate on staying up (which we will in the end) so I fully back Gus' decision to leave Nicky out until this is all sorted one way or another.

stop treating him as some sainted player. yes, he has been a fantastic servant to the club, but lets bear in mind he came here to suit his own personal circumstances and it is not professional to act publically and pointlessly as he has done in this saga. the club im sure is partially to blame, but it also surely has its reasons too.

When it comes to issues like this, sometimes it is not a case of one party being in the wrong. Forster is looking after himself and his family and doing his best to secure a contract with The Albion or another club, while Gus is doing what he thinks is right for the team, and either delaying the decision or deciding not to offer him a contract.

It may be that the interests of the two parties no longer coincide. If that's the case, so be it. Onwards and upwards for The Albion and thank you, Nicky, for several years of great service.

Forster has been the only good thing in the last few years so we should wait and see what comes out.How people can slate him is beyond belief:angry:

As I have said many times perhaps Gus himself doesnt know whether or not he is going to offer him a new contract as he is waiting to see how others perform, perhaps he has another striker of the Lambert, Barnard ilk lined up, who knows.

Forster has been very silly, yes you can understand his frustration if hes been asking for answers on a new contract and hasnt got it, when el-abd has but ultimately he has to wait until that decision is made, (or the decision was made and he didnt like the answer)he did`nt and went to the press moaning, thats not on, whatever his grievance he should keep it behind closed doors and not make it public.

Shitty thing to do, undermines the club and the manager. However good a player hes been for us and he has, the contract is for his potential future efforts not a reward for his past ones, and at his age there is some uncertainty especially if gus has new strikers in mind to bring in during the summer. Werent we the club that gave him a 3yr contract when the other clubs were only offering him 2yrs?? Seems hes forgotten that. A real shame.

"The manager has not committed himself either way but (Nicky) Forster has interpreted this as an indication he will not be offered a new contract and evidently regards Poyet’s neutral stance as an affront."
Sounds like a very childish over-reaction by Fozzie.:nono:

Forster has stepped over the line it would seem. Whatever may have been possible before his outburst will almost certainly not be possible now. It would seem to me almost certain that it is ended now, he will not play for us again, unless he makes with a big public apology that he has been daft and wants to play the rest of the season - then there may be a chance I guess.

How many times I have said this as it is so obvious that Poyet doesnt know how Holdroyd will take to Div 1.

A sub appearance yesterday would have been useful to help find out

Wouldnt argue with that as Hart did nothing and offered nothing.

Sadly I think we all knew that would be the case when it was decided to bring OGH on. I have always been one of those that was glad he got a new contract, it was only yesterday when they said he was coming on that I realised that I may have changed my mind now - Holroyd, Cox or even Carole would have been better choices to come on for me.
